Presented here is part of the mollusks collection belonging to the King D. Carlos Sea Museum and its relationship with humankind, distributed by biogeographic provinces through a world map.

It provides a classification and anatomical vision of mollusks, helping explain this phylum, it being the species with the greatest diversity in the sea.

Fine examples of shells from different oceans can be viewed. Appreciate the vast variety of shapes as we travel the world and marvel at the existence of equivalent species in seas so distant.

To conclude, after briefly admiring the beauty of the nacre that forms the innermost layer of some shells, greatly appreciated today by people, we look at its functional aspect.
